# ChexSync™ Velocity dashboard

> Monitor your products' rate of sale through Chex, independent of distribution changes.

Velocity tells you how well your product sells when it's on the shelf, so you can assess and compare product health even when products aren't sold in the same number of stores. The Velocity dashboard is divided into three sections: Velocity Overview, Velocity Drivers, and Velocity Details.

**Note:** Filtering to include or exclude zero-sales weeks changes the numbers on this dashboard. See [Zero-sales weeks](#zero-sales-weeks) below.

## Velocity overview

### Units per store per week over time

This chart shows your weekly velocity over the selected time period, based on the number of stores you sold in each week. This visualization always excludes zero-sales weeks, regardless of the **Zero Sales Weeks** filter setting.

### Units per store per week by product

This sortable table shows each product's velocity, calculated using the total number of stores it sold in over the entire selected time frame. A totals row at the bottom shows your aggregate portfolio velocity.

### Overview tiles

These tiles show your total units per store per week and sales dollars per store per week for the selected filters.

## Velocity drivers

### Units per store per week by state

This heat map shows where velocity is high or low. Hover over a state for detail.

### Velocity by city, velocity by chain, velocity by store

These sortable tables slice velocity by city, chain, and store.

## Velocity details

This table offers store-level detail, most useful after filtering to a specific state or chain. Select the export option to download the data.

## Zero-sales weeks

Weeks with zero sales — due to shipping delays, out-of-stocks, or irregular ordering — can affect how you measure velocity.

* **Excluding zero-sales weeks:** Velocity is based on the average number of weeks with sales per store within your date filter. Useful when a period of out-of-stocks would otherwise distort the numbers, or when you want to describe velocity as "when it sells, it sells at this rate."
* **Including zero-sales weeks:** Velocity is based on the total number of weeks in your date filter. Useful for a more conservative, realistic view, or for financial and demand forecasting.
